The Malbec is a grape often used for blending, but when done well it is an exceptionally rich and jammy red wine on its own. Carruth Cellars made a special acquisition of this unique varietal from St. Olof Vineyards in the Clear Lake Region of Lake County.

The vineyard is located just over the ridgeline from Northern Napa County, but in a different climate zone which gives the grapes their most unusual characteristics. Carruth Cellars imports these special  grapes to the Solana Beach Winery on Cedros where they are artfully crushed, barreled, aged and bottled.
